Job Description

The Driver, Semi-Tractor will operate Unisource class A vehicles in a professional manner while adhering to all Federal DOT regulations while striving to provide accurate, timely and efficient deliveries to Unisource customers. Assigned duties include but are not limited to safely operating combination class A vehicles and material handling equipment while picking up and delivering cargo, counting freight, proper secure of loads and inspecting equipment to ensure DOT compliance. May also include warehouse responsibilities in accordance to certain collective bargaining agreements.
Job Responsibilities:
* Drives multi-axial truck with a capacity greater than 3 tons to transport and deliver products to offices, plants or manufacturing companies.
* Loads industrial orders on to truck by hand, pallet jack, fork lift, electric pallet jack and hand dolly (MHE's) with occasional assistance.
* Receives routing bills, shipping orders and completes paperwork as needed.
* Perform pre and post trip inspections as required by DOT regulations.
* Unload cargo as required utilizing material handling equipment (MHE).
* Interact with external customers and company team members.
* Inspect cargo to include Bill of Lading/internal company documents reconciliation and rejection of damaged freight 
* Other related duties and responsibilities as required or assigned
* Team member regularly works in outside weather conditions.
* Team member may be exposed to extremes of temperature and environmental conditions.
* Noise level in work environment is consistent with driving and warehouse conditions.
* Job involves ability to continually lift, carry, push, pull at least 50 pounds or over of product and occasionally in excess of 100 pounds up to 160 pounds of products.
* Physical activities required of this job include but are not limited to: occasionally squat, crouch, kneel and climb, with frequent bending, stooping, and reaching above the shoulder level. Repetitive motions include: grasping, use of both hands and feet, standing, talking, and walking.
* Good hearing is a must to be working around moving equipment.
Working Conditions:
Required Skills

* Ability to work independently without close supervision
* Good communication and interpersonal skills
* Hold valid CDL drivers license.
* Comply with Unisource and DOT requirements for Driver Qualifiers.
* Able to safely driver a tractor-trailer combination in city and rural traffic.
* Able to physically handle product during deliveries.
* Skilled with pallet jack, powered pallet jack, hand-truck and other delivery tools.
* Detail oriented with documentation.
* Ability to accurately work with on board computer based logging system
Required Experience

* Current Class A license; Hazmat endorsement; Current endorsement to drive semi truck/tractor trailer and other pertinent DOT requirements.
* At least 2 years commercial driving experience with no accidents.
* Ability to work 2nd shift
